IT IS ABSOLUTELY VITAL TO EXPOSE AND UNRAVEL THIS STATE AS IT IS DESTINED TO PLAY A CENTRAL ROLE IN CONTEMPORARY HISTORY. IT IS TIME TO BE RUTHLESS TO DEMOLISH TYRANNY WHEREVER WE FIND IT ESPECIALLY IN THE HOLY LANDS AS IT IS A SACRILEGE TO HUMANITY AND GOD.

WHY HASN’t IRAN’s REVOLUTION AND GOVERNANCE MODEL SPREAD?

Kevin Barrett

On February 11, Iranians will celebrate the 44th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of 1979. Each year millions of people take to the streets in Tehran and other Iranian cities to express their support for the revolution that overthrew the US puppet Shah and instituted the world’s first Islamic Republic.

I participated in one such demonstration several years ago. The festive crowd of more than three million people engulfed and overflowed Tehran’s widest boulevard and stretched as far as the eye could see. Among the many patriotic and revolutionary slogans were signs reading “Death to America” and “Death to Israel.” I regularly heard things like: “Where are you from? Oh, you’re American? That is wonderful! Welcome to Iran! By the way, those signs... they’re about your government, not the people! Do you think maybe we should change those slogans?” My answer: “Yes, as soon as America and Israel change their ways.” “Insha’Allah.”

The USA, with its West Asia policy firmly under zionist control, has been working overtime to overthrow the Islamic Republic since 1979. The constant propaganda refrain emanating from Foggy Bottom, Langley, and their royalist Iranian exile assets in Los Angeles has never changed: “The Islamic Republic won’t last! It will fall within a few months, or at most a few years. Just give us more billions of US taxpayer dollars and we’ll put the Shah’s son back on the Peacock Throne and replace the IRGC with the MEK.!”

Yet despite nonstop regime change efforts by the world’s most powerful empire, the Islamic Republic has not just endured, it has thrived. Some see the Islamic Republic’s survival as a miracle. If so, Allah has worked the miracle by blessing Iran with unusually foolish enemies. It is hard to believe that anyone who actually knows anything about Iran would imagine that the Iranian people want to be ruled by an unholy alliance of the Pahlavis and the MEK. The former is one of the most notoriously corrupt and brutal puppet monarchies of the colonial age, while the latter may be the world’s most deranged terror cult, making even Daesh look relatively sane by comparison.

But it isn’t just a matter of having the right enemies. Islamic Iran has made tremendous advances in education, infrastructure, human development, and science and technology despite all-out western economic warfare and draconian sanctions. And it has achieved genuine sovereignty by building a military capable of fending off and/or deterring the west’s regime change attempts and proxy wars. In short, it has developed a successful society under Islamic governance. Since most Muslims worldwide want to live in Islamically-governed societies, one might think that other West Asian countries would follow Iran’s lead, overthrow their despotic western-puppet rulers, and create Islamic Republics along the lines of the Iranian model. The million-dollar question is: Why haven’t they?

The most obvious answer is that the Islamic Revolution succeeded because it took the west by surprise, but that surprise factor soon evaporated. The Anglo-zionist Empire, terrified by the loss of its powerful and strategically-located Pahlavi client state, and by the rise of a new model of governance that threatened imperial interests, rolled out a containment strategy. Like George Kennan’s famous “Long Telegram” containment strategy against the former Soviet Union, the anti-Islamic-Republic program used dirty tricks, counterinsurgencies, proxy wars, heavily-funded propaganda, and similar tactics.

Despite the western Empire’s failure to impose regime change on Tehran, it largely succeeded with its containment strategy. The central tenet of that strategy is that any attempts to create fully sovereign Islamically-based democratic republics must be brutally suppressed. So, when the overwhelming majority of Algerians voted for Islamic governance, that majority was crushed by death squads and false flag massacres that murdered hundreds of thousands of committed Muslims. When Egyptians voted in an Islamic government, the zionists, Saudis and Emiratis orchestrated a brutal coup founded on the torture and slaughter of tens of thousands of peaceful activists.

Even Imran Khan’s relatively mild efforts to bring an Islamic anti-corruption ethic to Pakistan elicited a US-backed coup followed by an assassination attempt. The message is clear: The west will never allow the creation of a second Islamic Republic or anything remotely like it, no matter how many must be murdered to prevent it.

But the citizens of the world’s Muslim-majority countries also share some blame. They have signally failed to shake off the chains of imperialism and colonialism and to rise up in sufficient numbers to overcome the empire’s containment strategy. The westernized elites of Muslim-majority states, like the wealthy Shah supporters who now languish in opulence in Los Angeles, have naturally collaborated with the empire to prevent Islamic revolution. But what about the people? And what about the Muslim scholars and opinion leaders? Why haven’t they been able to follow in the footsteps of Imam Khomeini and the Iranian ulama and mobilize the people to revolt against dictators and secularized comprador bourgeois elites?

One answer is repression. Imam Khomeini benefited from the aforementioned surprise factor: western policy-makers in 1979 were obsessed with their struggle against Communism, saw that Muslims were also anti-communist, and imagined that Imam Khomeini, if he somehow came to power, might not be all that different from the “Muslim” rulers of Saudi Arabia. So, the CIA and Mossad did not pursue a scorched-earth policy against the leaders of the Islamic Revolution in Iran until it was too late. Once Imam Khomeini was established as the Revolution’s Supreme Leader and Guide and it became obvious that his anti-imperialism and anti-zionism were sincerely held positions rather than empty political talking points, the empire’s leaders undoubtedly wished they had been foresighted enough to strangle the revolution in its cradle back in, say, 1978.

They would not make the same mistake twice. Since 1979, Islamic scholars and leaders throughout the Muslim-majority lands have been put on notice that anyone seeking to follow in Imam Khomeini’s footsteps by organizing a revolution against the puppet dictators that dominate the region will be “terminated with extreme prejudice.” The puppet regimes, of course, are only too happy to put their mosques and ulama under hyper-surveillance and to operate the CIA-built torture chambers that await those who seek to free their countries from subjugation to the Empire of Riba. And if one were to try to organize a genuinely Islamic revolution from somewhere like Paris or London or New York, one would quickly learn that France’s relative tolerance of Imam Khomeini’s 1970s anti-Shah operation no longer pertains.

The wave of western terrorism against Muslims who wish to establish democratic Islamic republics has unfortunately succeeded. Most of our best leaders have been murdered or terrorized into silence, while the next tier has been compromised. At the same time the empire of Dajjal has succeeded in spreading the poison of sectarianism. Many pious Muslims have adopted a chauvinistic or fanatical insistence on their own school of Islamic thought and practice, which has misled them into identifying Muslims of different schools of thought, rather than the Empire of Riba, as their primary enemy.

If the bad news is that the Islamic Revolution has thus far been successfully contained by its enemies, the good news is that those enemies are unlikely to dominate the world much longer. The Anglo-zionist Empire, ruled by the bankers of Wall Street and the City of London and the political establishments they dominate, is on the brink of losing its “exorbitant privilege” to print unlimited quantities of dollars by lending them into existence at interest. As this riba-based revenue stream of disguised imperial tribute evaporates, the empire will be rolled back.

That will re-open space for Muslims to regain sovereignty and institute Islamically-based governmental and social paradigms. As that process unfolds, the successful experience of the Islamic Republic of Iran will undoubtedly inform and inspire the framers of the next wave of Islamic societies.

MARCH 23 IS PAKISTAN DAY WHEN ON MARCH 1940 INDIAN MUSLIMS MADE THE LAHORE DECLARATION. THIS WAS A RESOLUTION PASSED BY THE ALL INDIA MUSLIM LEAGUE FOR THE CREATION OF PAKISTAN FROM BRITISH INDIA. 83 YEARS ON PAKISTAN IS ON THE ROPES AGAIN.  THE STATUS QUO IS UNTENABLE AND THE COUNTRY IS FACING THE ABYSS WITH EITHER CHAOS, CIVIL WAR AND DISINTEGRATION  OR REFORM. THIS WILL BE REVIEWED EXTENSIVELY.

PAKISTAN CAN NEVER PROGRESS TILL MILITARY's ABUSE OF POWER FROM BARREL OF GUN ISN'T MADE ACCOUNTABLE

PAKISTAN’s DREAM TURNED INTO NIGHTMARE

Zia Sarhadi
https://crescent.icit-digital.org/articl...-nightmare

Every year, March 23 is celebrated as Pakistan Day. On this day in 1940, a formal demand for the creation of Pakistan was made through a resolution of the All-India Muslim League. The party claimed to represent the interests of the Muslims in British colonized India.
The meeting was held in Lahore. Today a monument in the form of a tall tower, called the Minar-e Pakistan, has been erected on the spot to highlight its significance.

The day is also celebrated with a march by smartly dressed Pakistani troops. Top officials—the president and prime minister—deliver stirring speeches threatening to turn Pakistan into another Switzerland. This has been a common refrain heard for decades even while the country has been run into the ground with mass poverty afflicting people.

Some constants in Pakistan’s polity can be identified. It is a country that has become addicted to handouts from abroad: the IMF, ‘friendly’ or not-so-friendly countries and the ever-ready cash-cow, overseas Pakistanis. Subservience to the US is another constant in Pakistani politics.

The criminal syndicate of generals, feudal lords, bureaucrats, judges and media that runs Pakistan has sucked the blood out of the country. They are unabashed criminals, gangsters, rapists and murderers. Their sole purpose in life is to plunder state resources.
Today, Pakistan teeters on the brink of economic collapse. Negotiations with the IMF for a bailout package of $1.1 billion has come with stiff conditions to remove subsidies and float the rupee against the US dollar. IMF conditions have led to astronomical price increases of most essential commodities, including food and fuel prices.

Poverty, already high, has increased alarmingly. The middle class, small as it was, has been decimated. There are only two classes in Pakistan today: the small but rapaciously greedy elite class and the vast majority of the rest. The situation is so bad that in most major cities, young girls are now selling their bodies to get some money for food. And the country still calls itself the “Islamic Republic of Pakistan”! What is “Islamic” about Pakistan where girls are forced into such degrading acts just to feed themselves or their families?

In such dire conditions, is there any justification to hold military parades and deliver stirring speeches? People cannot feed their children while the elite indulge in their customary plunder and debauchery. How long can this situation last when people can neither get food nor justice because the judges are also thoroughly corrupt?

At the root of Pakistan’s problems lies the military’s domineering attitude. It is involved in all aspects of life and every policy of the state. In the only domain where it should concentrate its energies—defending the country’s borders—it has failed miserably. Far from liberating Kashmir from the clutches of India which is touted as the military’s main objective, it is not even capable of defending the country’s western borders with Afghanistan.

Attacks have become far too common. The most recent attack occurred on January 30 in a mosque deep inside the police headquarters in Peshawar. That a terrorist could penetrate multiple security checkpoints in a heavily-fortified security zone speaks volumes for the pathetic state of affairs. Has anyone taken responsibility for this massive tragedy that killed 101 people, almost all of them police officials, and injured another 217?

It is time to call a spade a spade. Pakistan is virtually under martial law. There is no law, only the heavy boot of the military on the necks of the people. Crooks, rapists, murderers and other assorted criminals have been imposed as rulers on the country because the former military chief, Qamar Javed Bajwa felt Imran Khan was not doing well as prime minister. He accused the former prime minister of mismanaging the economy?

Several questions arise. How did Bajwa figure out that the economy was not doing well under Imran Khan’s government? Is he responsible for the economy of the country and if so, on what basis? Bajwa has also trashed the reputation of the army, for what it was worth.
He is guilty of treason and should be tried for this supreme crime. The tragedy is that there is no court in the country where a judge would be able to deliver such a verdict. The army would not allow such a trial to take place because it considers itself above the law. This was evident in the funeral held for Pervez Musharraf, the other military dictator who died in Dubai last month. Despite being convicted of treason and sentenced to death, he was given full military honours for burial. How long can this farce continue?   The people of Pakistan are fed up with this state of affairs. They are reaching a point where some individuals, unable to take it anymore, may start targeting the criminals in power. Who can blame them if they are pushed to this state through starvation?

WHETHER YOU UNDERSTAND OR NOT WHAT'S GOING ON THE STREETS OF PAKISTAN. YOU SHOULD BE ASKING YOURSELF WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO GET RID OF CORRUPTION, LACK OF RULE OF LAW, POVERTY, ABUSE OF POWER AND GLOBAL ELITE DICTAT IN YOUR CITY AND COUNTRY. THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD NEED TO THROWAWAY THEIR FEARS AND POWERLESSNESS AND MARCH FOR PEOPLE'S LIBERATION  AND GOVERNANCE.   HOW ABOUT DEMANDING ALL PARLIAMENTS TO CEASE FUNCTIONING AND DEMANDING   NEW ELECTIONS AND CLEARING OUT ALL EXISTING CORRUPT POLITICIANS, ARMY GENERALS AND BANKERS.

IT'S A GREAT SHAME THAT THE EVENTS IN IMRAN KHAN's ZAMAN PARK RESIDENCY ARE TAKING PLACE IN THE GREAT CITY OF LAHORE. ON MARCH 1940 INDIAN MUSLIMS IN BRITISH OCCUPIED INDIA ISSUED THE LAHORE DECLARATION FOR A MUSLIM HOMELAND FOR INDIAN MUSLIMS WHERE THEY WILL BE FREE AND INDEPENDENT. A HOMELAND , A COUNTRY AND NATION WHICH WOULD BE FREE FROM THE OPPRESSIVE BRITISH RAJ AND EQUALLY OPPRESSIVE HINDU RAJ. WHERE THE FLAG OF ISLAM AND THE MODERN ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN WOULD BE ESTABLISHED.  A HARBINGER FOR THE ENTIRE MUSLIM WORLD.

83 YEARS ON FROM THAT DATE THE DREAM OF PAKISTAN HAS DESCENDED TO A NIGHTMARE. THE FINGER HAS TO BE POINTED TO A CORRUPT CIVILIAN ELITE AND AN ARMY WHICH RUNS THE COUNTRY AND A USA NWO DICTAT.

PAKISTAN DOES NOT DESERVE THIS AND NEITHER DO THE PAKISTANI PEOPLE WHOSE DREAMS AND ASPIRATIONS CAN NOT BE SACRIFICED AT THE ALTAR OF THE NWO. PAKISTAN NEEDS TO PREPARE TO RISE AND SMASH THE CHAINS WHICH IMPRISON THE NATION .  ONLY NATIONS WHICH ARE LIVE CAN BECOME ALIVE AND GAIN THEIR FREEDOMS. GLOBAL VISION 2000  GOES FURTHER AND DEEPER AS WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT IS OF EQUAL GLOBAL SIGNIFICANCE. GLOBALLY HUMANITY IS BEING DAILY SACRIFICED AT THE ALTAR OF A DAJALLIC MATERIALISTIC  NWO RUN BY DEMONOCRATIC LEADERS WITH NO MORALITY.

HUMANITY NEEDS TO RIP OFF THE MSM PURDAH WHICH BLINDS US. WE NEED TO LOOK LISTEN AND HEED THE SPIRITUAL MASTERS  OF OUR AGE. GLOBAL VISION 2000 HAS BEEN HOLDING OUT AN OUTREACH PLATFORM FOR THEM . WE NEED TO REALISE THAT THERE IS A BATTLE RAGING  ON AT THE IDEOLOGICAL , EXISTENTIAL AND SPIRITUAL LEVELS. THIS WAR AGAINST HUMANITY OPERATES BY DECEPTION AND STEALTH. INDEED WE CAN EXPOSE HOW IT OPERATES THROUGH ITS DOCTRINE OF ORDO AB CHAO- ORDER THROUGH CHAOS. IT HAS OPENLY ANNOUNCED A GLOBAL RESET WHICH IS ABOUT ACCELERATION OF DEPOPULATION.

THE SOLUTION IS SIMPLE. HUMANITY NEEDS TO WITHDRAW IT'S CONSENT TO THE GLOBALIST DEMONIC MALTHUSIAN SATANIC EUGENICISTS WHO CONTROL THE PRIVATE CENTRAL BANKS.  PRACTICALLY HUMANITY NEEDS TO WITHDRAW IT'S REAL MONEY DEPOSITED IN A GLOBAL FINANCIAL AND BANKING SYSTEM WHICH OPERATES AS A PONZI SCHEME.

DO NOT FEED THIS DRACULA BLOOD SUCKING SYSTEM ANY LONGER. LET THERE BE NO MISTAKE ABOUT THIS AS IT IS ON ITS LAST LEGS AND DEATH BED.  GO AND DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND WITHDRAW YOUR MONEY AND LIFE BLOOD FROM THE ROTTEN USURIOUS BANKS. PHONEY MONEY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BY GOLD AND SILVER LEGAL TENDER.

AND ABOVE ALL STOP AND DROP EVERYTHING BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.  GET ON YOUR KNEES AND SEEK FORGIVENESS AND REPENTANCE FOR FORGETTING AND FLOUTING ALLAH's SOVEREIGNTY AND COMMANDMENTS.

IMRAN SKIPPED COURT HEARINGS BECAUSE OF "100% CONFIRMED INFORMATION" OF ASSASSINATION BID, LHC TOLD

https://www.dawn.com/news/1742500/imran-...d-lhc-told

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry on Thursday told the Lahore High Court (LHC) that the party had “100 per cent confirmed information” of an assassination attempt on PTI chief Imran Khan at the F-8 Katcheri in Islamabad where he skipped his hearing in the Toshakhana case.

Chaudhry made the revelation regarding the alleged security threat while the court took up his petition seeking to stop the “atrocities” outside Imran’s Zaman Park residence in Lahore. The police have been trying to carry out a court-ordered arrest of the PTI chief, but have failed so far due to the stiff resistance PTI workers have mounted against them.

In response to the plea, the LHC had on Wednesday asked the police to stop the operation to apprehend the PTI chief at Zaman Park until 10am today. However, in the latest development, the court has extended the enforcement of its order until tomorrow.

The former premier was due to appear before a sessions court for indictment in the case on February 7, in which he was absent. He was then summoned on Feb 21, which he also skipped, leading the indictment to be deferred to Feb 28. Imran had that same day secured bails in three other cases — prohibited funding, terrorism and attempted murder in other courts. He failed to appear in the Toshakhana hearing, which led to the arrest warrants.

Subsequently, the PTI approached the Islamabad High Court, which ordered him to appear before the sessions court on March 13, and suspended the warrants till then. He skipped the March 13 hearing as well, which led to a second arrest warrant being issued.

As the hearing commenced today, Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh remarked that the lack of understanding of the law was the cause of the issue.

He remarked that adherence to the rule of law could resolve the current impasse.

The judge went on to emphasise that all solutions to such problems could be found in the Constitution.

The judge lamented that the entire system “had been jammed” by the opposing parties.

“Sometimes you appear in this court, and at other times you turn up in the Islamabad High Court,” Justice Sheikh commented.

During the court proceedings, Advocate Azhar Siddique, representing Chaudhry, stated that the issue had become a political dispute.

Responding to this, the judge advised that both parties needed to follow the law and reminded them that the entire nation had been affected by the ongoing situation.

Chaudhry highlighted the serious nature of the security concerns. He explained that Imran Khan had appeared before four courts in Islamabad, but had missed the fifth appearance due to “confirmed information regarding an assassination attempt on him”.

In response, the judge assured that the law provided for acquiring security, and emphasised that the system had measures in place to address such concerns.

He asked Chaudhry to bring his party “into the system” to address security concerns related to the party chief.

The judge pointed out that there was a proper procedure in place within the legal system for acquiring security.

“We will provide you the policy so you may follow it,” he added.

The Advocate General of Punjab, Shan Gull, informed the court that the Islamabad High Court had made a decision regarding the arrest warrants issued for the PTI chief.

“I have not touched the issue of the arrests as of now,” the judge responded.

He remarked that neither the LHC nor the IHC stopped the implementation of the [arrest] warrants.

After hearing arguments, the court adjourned the hearing until tomorrow.

Later in a tweet, Chaudhry said the LHC had extended the orders to stop the operation at Zaman Park until tomorrow.

“The chief secretary and inspector general of police have been instructed to sit with the leadership of the PTI and resolve these matters through mutual consultation,” he said.

PTI ready to sit and talk

Separately, Chaudhry said the PTI “was ready and had no issues” with meeting with the administration to sort out matters peacefully as per the LHC orders.

Speaking to the media outside the LHC today, the PTI leader said Justice Sheikh had “extended the relief given to Lahore’s citizens yesterday” and had directed both the city administration and the PTI to “sit together and move forward after holding discussions on the matter”.

He added, “We don’t even want to worsen matters. […] To ruin peace and order would be the last thing that the PTI would want.”

The former minister also recalled Justice Sheikh’s remarks on Imran’s security: “Thirdly, he (Justice Sheikh) has said that there definitely should be security for Imran Khan, and he has said to IG sahib to give security book and security shall be provided according to it.”

He also claimed that the government wanted to distract people’s attention from the “main issues” that plague the country and wanted to delay elections by creating bloodshed.

PTI barred from holding rally in Lahore on Sunday

Meanwhile, the LHC also heard PTI leader Hammad Azhar’s petition against the imposition of Section 144 in Lahore. The court barred the party from holding its public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan on Sunday, emphasising the need for relevant stakeholders to devise a mechanism first.

During the hearing, the court directed the petitioner to sit with the inspector general of Punjab police and chief secretary to develop a mechanism on the matter. It urged the parties concerned to allow the system to run smoothly, stressing that planning a meeting 15 days in advance is necessary.

The court also drew a parallel to marriage, noting that even that requires advance planning.

Azhar had approached the LHC earlier this week challenging the imposition of section 144 after the issuance of the election schedule in Punjab.

On behalf of the petitioner, Advocate Azhar Siddique argued that the caretaker government imposed section 144 in Lahore only to stop the PTI from holding election activities, while other parties were allowed to hold public gatherings.

He had asked the court to set aside the impugned notification issued by the district government against public gatherings and rallies under section 144.

PAKISTAN's HYBRID REGIME IS FIGHTING FOR ITS LIFE.
WILL IT SURVIVE IMRAN'S ONSLAUGHT

We do not yet know whether Khan will win or lose, but what we can say for certain is that significant upheaval is around the corner.
Uzair M. Younus
https://www.dawn.com/news/1743399/pakist...-onslaught

This has been quite the ride. And it is nowhere close to being over yet.

What Pakistan is going through right now is the collapse of the seventh iteration of regimes that have governed the country since its founding in 1947, and moving towards a possible eighth iteration. These regimes have had varying degrees of balance between the various institutions that govern Pakistan, in particular the civilian and military ruling classes.

The ones that came before

The first iteration was almost wholly civilian in nature but lasted only a few years. The death throes of this iteration unleashed a dictatorial kleptocracy whose shockwaves continue to reverberate across Pakistani society. The birth of Bangladesh heralded the end of the second regime, which essentially consisted of the Ayub and Yahya dictatorships.

The third iteration was born under the guidance of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the resurrector of a nation-state that became the first to keep its name after the majority had split. This dispensation delivered the 1973 Constitution, attempted land reforms, and nationalised industries.

But the tilt towards civilians did not last and ultimately, this iteration was no match for the empire’s revenge. The fourth iteration tipped the balance of power firmly towards the military, giving us the horrors of Zia

The 1990s saw a fifth iteration, one where the face was civilian, but the power still lay with the military. A game of musical chairs followed — with Benazir Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif and four caretaker prime ministers in the mix — leading to never-ending drama where the establishment seemed unsure how to deal with an unwieldy civilian leadership.

Musharraf’s dictatorship, perceived to be ‘benevolent’ by some to this day, was the sixth attempt. It once again cemented the primacy of the military as the dominant player in Pakistan’s political economy. But this regime collapsed soon after the most powerful man in the country took off his khaki-coloured armour and hybrid democracy followed — the seventh iteration of the governance compact that has continued to this day.

Benazir sacrificed her life for this iteration, it survived Nawaz’s disqualification in 2017, but is collapsing under the assault unleashed by Khan and his party. This seventh era may well have survived Khan’s ouster as well, were it not for the former prime minister’s decision to continue fighting. And it is this ongoing fight between Khan and his former benefactors that has dealt a deadly blow to this seventh iteration of a governance compact in Pakistan.

A new dawn (for the eighth time)

Khan is now seeking to bring forth a new era, which, according to his supporters, will finally deliver the supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law promised to the citizens of the country. The goal, in the words of the PTI leadership and its supporters, is to have real and meaningful civilian supremacy. The status quo is seeking to prevent this outcome, they argue, pointing to nearly a hundred cases against Khan and the assassination attempt that almost ended his life.

Their goal, according to Khan himself, is to kill him, for he has become far too dangerous for his former benefactors. While Khan obfuscates much — like most politicians — here his words are clear.

The fact of the matter is that much is on the line, key among them, the job for the country’s prime minister, de jure the most powerful position in the Republic, and the country’s army chief, de facto the most powerful position in the Republic.

This fight among key actors of the ruling elite is not just about the elite. Khan is raging against the status quo, in particular the machine that has birthed him and many of his predecessors. Those that gave birth to him and nurtured him are vengeful and wield the instruments to achieve their goals. Khan knows this better than almost anybody alive and living in Pakistan, for he himself wielded some of this machine’s power while he was in power.

But what Khan is drawing strength from now is not just his own rage, but the support of millions of citizens who see him as their saviour. For Khan is not the only one who has been hard done by the status quo. Almost every citizen that is not among “them” has a direct or indirect experience of the horror that the status quo power inflicts. This also includes the likes of Nawaz — countless thronged to him and his daughter when he raged against the machine following his ouster.

The key difference now is that unlike his predecessors who have tried to outfox the status quo, Khan is following a direct and confrontational strategy. And while this strategy may have many flaws, its aggression is also perhaps its biggest strength. Around 60 per cent of Pakistan’s population is under 30 and they are angry. A significant portion of this demographic supports Khan. He recognises that, and uses it to his advantage.

But Khan is up against the leadership of the most powerful institution in Pakistan. He appears to have split the establishment itself and has the gavel bending to his power. This in itself is significant and heralds for things to come. We do not yet know whether Khan will win or lose, but what we can say for certain is that significant upheaval is around the corner.
The regime is dead. Long live the regime.

AT THE TIME  OF WRITING IT IS STILL TO BE CONFIRMED IF THE PTI RALLY AT THE FAMOUS MINAR e PAKISTAN WILL PROCEED AS ENVISAGED ON SATURDAY MARCH 25 2023.  IMRAN KHAN HAS CALLED IT A POWERSHOW. IT IS BEING HELD IN AN ATMOSPHERE OF POLITICAL VICTIMISATION   AND HARASSMENT BY THE EXISTING POLITICAL AUTHORITIES. UPTO 1000 PTI PARTY WORKERS HAVE BEEN ROUNDED UP,  THOUSANDS OF HOUSE RAIDS, CONTAINERS BLOCKING ROADS, INTERNET OUTAGE TO  STOP THE RALLY AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION CURBED.

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS AND THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY NEEDS TO STAND UP TO BANANA REPUBLIC POLITICS AND PRESSURISE THE SHARIF PROXY GOVERNMENT TO ABIDE BY THE RULE OF LAW AND CONSTITUTION OF THE COUNTRY. IDEALLY SANCTIONS ARE REQUIRED ON THE CORRUPT LEADERS INCLUDING FREEZING THEIR MISAPPROPRIATED ASSETS IN WESTERN JURISDICTIONS AND RETURNED TO PAKISTAN.

IT IS CLEAR THAT THE BATTLE OF WILLS BETWEEN PAKISTAN's PEOPLE AND ENTRENCHED OLIGARCHY MOVES ONWARDS TOWARDS A CRISIS. PAKISTAN HAS ARRIVED AT A DEFINING MOMENT IN IT'S HISTORY AS IT HAS A POPULIST AND POPULAR LEADER WITH THE MAJORITY OF THE POPULATION  BEHIND HIM. THE PAKISTANI ESTABLISHMENT NEEDS TO REALISE IT'S MONOPOLY POWER SHOW IS COMING AT AN END.  IT WILL BE MAKING A FATAL MISTAKE IF IT CONTINUES WITH MEASURES TO SABOTAGE THE PAKISTANI PEOPLES WILL AND MAKE  THE PEOPLE ANGRY. AS THE PENT UP RAGE OF 70 YEARS  WILL ENGULF ALL AND SUNDRY.

THE OPTIONS OF BOTH THE RULING ALLIANCE AND OPPOSITION ARE BEING NARROWED. THE OPTIONS FOR THE POLITICAL PARTIES TO BE EITHER IN JAIL OR IN POWER AND GOVERNMENT IS DANGEROUS. THE POLITICAL PARTIES NEED TO GROW UP AND LEARN TO COEXIST IF THE NATION IS TO PROGRESS AND DEVELOP.  PAKISTAN's ABSENCE OF THE RULE OF  LAW , LACK OF CIVILIAN SUPREMACY AND THE LAW OF THE JUNGLE NEEDS TO END. THIS CAN ONLY BE DONE BY BREAKING THE IDOLS AND CHAINS OF FEAR WHICH HAS IMPRISONED THE NATION SOON AFTER INDEPENDENCE.

MORE IMPORTANTLY THE POWERSHOW's SIGNIFICANCE NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED IN THE LIGHT OF CONSTITUTIONAL ELECTION REQUIREMENTS.

PAKISTAN UNDER DE FACTO MARTIAL LAW

https://crescent.icit-digital.org/articl...artial-law

The men in khaki may not have stormed the corridors of power, but since all power resides in their grubby hands, Pakistan is under de facto martial law. The rapists, murderers and mega-thieves installed in power follow orders that come directly from the GHQ in Rawalpindi.

The rest of the world also knows that real power resides in Rawalpindi, not Islamabad. That is why every visiting official meets the army chief, a practice unheard of in other countries. It is
the army chief and a small coterie of generals around him who call the shots. Civilians are used merely as decoration (if that is possible at all) to create the illusion of civilian rule.

What is currently underway in Pakistan demonstrates the criminal nature of the army. It is hell-bent on preventing the most popular politician in Pakistan—Imran Khan—from returning to power. The army top brass knows that if elections are held, Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan would sweep the polls. Why are the generals so terrified of his coming back to power whose ouster they had engineered on April 9, 2022?

The generals, like the criminals they have installed in power, are thoroughly corrupt. Imran Khan has vowed to go after the crooks and deal with them according to the law. The generals are terrified of this prospect, hence their determination to not allow elections until Imran Khan has been removed from the scene either through assassination or a long-term jail sentence on concocted charges. He has survived two assassination attempts and faces more than 150 charges, all of them bogus.

Aware that these charges will not stand in a civilian court, the army announced on May 15 that those involved in the May 9 attacks on military installations will be tried in military courts under the Official Secrets Act.

It is revealing that the National Security Committee (NSC), the highest security body in the country, met a day later to “approve” the army’s decision. Under what constitutional authority does the army make such decisions? The fact that it has the guns does not give it the right to dictate state policy or boss over civilians.

The same holds true for other state institutions whether the judiciary, bureaucracy or the police. The army’s heavy boot is present everywhere. It is akin to a person hiring a chowkidar to protect his house but takes over the entire house, starts dictating to the owner how to conduct his affairs and who he should have as friends.

The army has a long sordid history of interfering in politics. From the first martial law imposed in October 1958 to the current mess created by the army, it has indulged in the worst kind of political engineering to make and break political parties. It is different now because Imran Khan has changed the country’s political dynamics. He has created awareness among the masses who have realized what dirty role the army has been playing.

The army has responded with viciousness never before seen in Pakistan’s tortuous history. People who dare to question the army’s illegal actions have been targeted and some physically eliminated. Journalists like Arshad Sharif forced to flee Pakistan was murdered in Kenya. Other journalists—like Imran Riaz Khan—have simply disappeared. Yet others have been threatened and tortured.

The worst act perpetrated by the army is to grab political activists’ daughters, wives and mothers and threatened them with rape. Some have suffered such degrading acts. There are more than 10,000 political prisoners in Pakistan today. Videos have appeared on the Internet of the kind of torture they are subjected to.

The Pakistan army is subjecting its own people to the same kind of torture, rape and humiliation that the Indian occupation army is doing to the people of Kashmir. For decades, the army has abducted young men from Balochistan and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province (KPK) falsely accusing them of being “terrorists”.

Even young children have not been spared. Hundreds of young men have simply disappeared in what are called “missing persons”. Mothers are provided no information about their sons despite knocking on many doors.

The army has used the same tactics against leading members of the PTI. Under the threat of raping their daughters or wives, PTI members have been forced to make public declarations to condemn the May 9 attacks on army installations and to quit the party.

The implication is that it was the PTI and especially Imran Khan who instigated these attacks. Videos from multiple sources show the attackers were agents provocateurs, sent by the army and the criminals installed in power to carry out these acts of vandalism. Imran Khan was under arrest at the time.

He was kidnapped from the Islamabad High Court premises on May 9 by hundreds of armed Rangers’ personnel, a paramilitary force under the command of the army. This was an illegal act. Has anyone been held accountable for such criminal activity?

Besides, Imran Khan has called for an independent judicial inquiry to identify the culprits. No such inquiry has been held because if carried out honestly, it will expose the army’s role in the attacks on its own installations for a very sinister purpose.

Instead, it has unleashed its dogs in the media to peddle the army’s narrative about Imran Khan’s alleged misdeeds. The latest army order is that his name should not be mentioned on any TV channel or in any newspaper. The army wants to blank him out of the picture. Thanks to social media, Imran Khan’s message is getting through but barring media coverage in Pakistan, it will be limited in its reach.

After forcing members of the PTI to abandon it, a new party, Istehkam-e Pakistan Party (IPP), commonly referred to as the ‘king’s party’ has been created. This is led by Jahangir Tareen Khan and includes such other ‘lotas’ as Aleem Khan, Aun Chaudhry, Aamir Mehmood Kiani, Imran Ismail, Fawad Chaudhry, Ali Haider Zaidi and a host of others. The new party has been dubbed “Zaleel Tareen Party” (the most disgusting party!)

The army thinks creation of the new party would undermine the PTI support base in elections. Not very bright, the generals do not understand the current political situation properly. They are still living in the past assuming that just as they undermined political parties by breaking their members in the past, they will do the same with PTI and succeed.

They do not appear confident though. If they believe the creation of a new party would undermine the PTI, they should have no hesitation holding elections. So, what’s holding them back? They want to eliminate Imran Khan first before embarking on that venture.

This betrays the generals’ nervousness. They have also gone berserk targeting such Vloggers outside Pakistan as retired army officers Adil Raja, Haider Mehdi and Akbar Hussain, senior journalist Shaheen Sehbai, Dr Moeed Pirzada, Sabir Shakir and Wajahat Khan. The Pakistan High Commission in London, and no doubt the High Commission in Ottawa, have been mobilized to go after these individuals.

What the morons in uniform do not understand is that Britain and Canada are rules-based societies. Making allegations against individuals have to be proved in a court of law, not enforced at the whim of a general or even a bureaucrat. One feels sorry for Pakistani diplomats in London and Ottawa forced to carry out the orders of morons who do not know anything about law or how politics works.

Their bloody-mindedness has turned Pakistan into a laughing stock of the world while its economy has been run into the ground. Is there any hope for Pakistan’s survival with these morons in control?

CAN PAKISTAN AFFORD ITS ARMY ?
https://crescent.icit-digital.org/articl...d-its-army

Most armies exist to protect the country’s borders from invading forces. While the Pakistan army also claims to perform this function, it has demonstrably failed in this fundamental task. Instead, its primary function has become manipulating the political process, installing and dismissing governments without regard to people’s wishes, and interfering in the country’s economic and foreign policies to the detriment of its well-being.

Looked at from any perspective, the Pakistan army’s interference in the political arena has been an unmitigated disaster. The current crisis gripping Pakistan is the direct result of the army high command’s total disregard for the rule of law and their stubborn insistence that they know what is best for the country. They don’t.

The generals have on numerous occasions stated in private that they cannot fight India anymore, the country’s principal enemy. Following from this is the fact that the army is incapable of liberating Kashmir from the clutches of India either. If it cannot and will not perform these tasks, it loses its raison d’etre for its existence. So, it must be asked: what is the point of having a standing army of 680,000 that consumes more than 50 percent of the country’s budget when it cannot perform its primary function?

The military’s massive outlay has stymied the country’s development and deprived such vital sectors as education and health of desperately-needed resources.

Unfortunately, the Pakistanis’ infatuation with the army persists. Some people still argue, including Imran Khan whose ouster from power was engineered by the army in April 2022, that Pakistan needs its army for defence. But the army has made clear that it cannot and will not defend the state. So, what is the rationale for having such an army?

True, some people would argue that without an army India is likely to invade Pakistan. This issue needs proper analysis. Pakistan is a nuclear state. Should India commit the folly of invading Pakistan to threaten its existence, the nuclear option will be used. Delhi knows this.
That explains why India has not had a full-fledged war with Pakistan since 1998 when both countries came out of the nuclear closet (India had carried out its first nuclear test on May 18, 1974 in what the western media called a “peaceful nuclear explosion”!)

India is a target-rich country. Pakistan can inflict a lot more damage on India than the other way round. Reduced to penury by the army and the criminal gang of thieves, rapists and murderers installed in power by the army, there is not much to lose in Pakistan.

Let us look at the army’s performance since the creation of Pakistan. It played no role in Pakistan’s creation; none whatsoever. In his book, Friends not Masters, Ayub Khan proudly mentions that during partition, Muslim officers and soldiers in the British Indian Army maintained their professionalism and remained completely “neutral”! Their neutrality cost the lives of more than a million Muslims.

They shed their ‘neutrality’ as soon as Pakistan came into existence and started demanding a lion’s share of the resources. When Indian forces invaded Kashmir in October 1947, Pakistan’s Governor General Muhammad Ali Jinnah ordered General Douglas Gracey, then acting commander-in-chief of the Pakistan army, to send troops into Kashmir to defend the Kashmiris.
He flatly refused, saying British officers in the Pakistan army would only obey the orders of General Claude Auchinleck, who was the supreme commander of forces of both India and Pakistan.

Gracey should have been fired for such insubordination but Jinnah did not do so. The part of Kashmir territory saved from Indian clutches was the result of Pathan tribesmen rushing to help their Kashmiri brethren. Subsequent attempts in 1965 and 1971 to wrest control of Kashmir from India ended in stalemate.

In fact, a great opportunity was missed in November 1962 when Indian troops fled in the face of advancing Chinese troops along their border in Tibet. China urged Pakistan to move into Kashmir but President Ayub Khan, under pressure from US President John Kennedy, did not do so. The latter promised that once the war between China and India was over, the US would help resolve the Kashmir dispute.

Sixty years later, Pakistan is still waiting, like the two tramps—Vladimir and Estragon—in Samuel Beckett’s novel, Waiting for Godot, that the US or UN might help resolve the Kashmir dispute. There is greater chance of the two tramps meeting the imaginary Godot than the Kashmir dispute being resolved!

In the meantime, Pakistani troops lost strategic territory in Siachen Glacier in 1984, under another military dictator, this time General Zia-ul Haq. Pakistan has suffered four bouts of martial law (Ayub Khan October 1958 - March 1969); Yahya Khan (March 1969 - January 1972); General Zia-ul Haq (July 1977 – August 1988) and General Pervez Musharraf (November 1999 – August 2008).

If under Ayub Khan, Pakistan lost any chance of liberating Kashmir, under Yahya, East Pakistan was lost completely. That reflects Pakistani failures at multiple levels. It not only reflected the bloody-mindedness of the West Pakistani elite and their racism toward the Bengalis (the people of East Pakistan/Bangladesh) but the military’s resort to brute force to resolve every crisis. While December 16, 1971 will go down in Pakistan’s history as a day of infamy when 90,000 troops surrendered to the invading Indian army, more crucially it was a collective failure of the Pakistanis to condemn the military operation launched against the people of East Pakistan in March 1971. The horrors that the Pakistan army perpetrated against innocent people is a blot on the name of Pakistan whose shame can never be erased. By remaining silent while Pakistani troops raped and killed Bengali women is now being repeated in what is left of Pakistan.

General Ziaul Haq’s military rule sucked Pakistan deeper into the American orbit bringing the drugs and gun culture to Pakistan. Billions of dollars were showered on Pakistan to be sent to the Afghan mujahideen to fight the Soviet army. Pakistani generals helped themselves to the largesse and became billionaires in the process. Their children are now enjoying the fruits of that stolen loot.

While General Zia’s rule ended in a fiery air crash along with a number of his fellow generals in August 1988, it was not long before the generals were back in power in November 1999. General Musharraf’s military rule was marked by more disasters. He readily joined America’s war on terror causing immense damage to the social and political fabric of Pakistan. Tens of thousands of Pakistanis lost their lives in this so-called war on terror.

Pakistani troops attacked their own people in the former tribal areas of Aurakzai agency and North Waziristan at the behest of the Americans. Military operations in Swat also gave rise to immense hatred  and led directly to the creation of the group called the Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The ISI acted as bounty hunters for the Americans. Completely innocent people were grabbed from the streets of Pakistan and handed over to the Americans in return for money. Several shameful episodes can be recounted.

The Taliban ambassador to Pakistan, Mullah Abdus Salam Zaeef was grabbed, in violation of all diplomatic norms, and handed over to the Americans who shipped him to Guantanamo Bay, the torture chamber on illegally occupied Cuban island. He was stripped naked while Pakistani military officers looked on.

In his 2006 book, In the Line of Fire, General Musharraf writes on p.237: “We have capture 689 [‘terrorists’] and handed over 369 to the United States. We have earned bounties totaling millions of dollars.” Such shamelessness would be hard to find anywhere else. Among Musharraf’s prize catches was one Abu Zubaydah accused by George W. Bush and Donald Rumsfeld as being the “most high valued al-Qaeda operative”.

Abu Zubaydah was mercilessly tortured—waterboarded 83 times in a single month, slammed against a concrete wall and subjected to other forms of torture first at various black sites and then at Guantanamo Bay.But as Rebecca Gordon revealed in her brilliant piece in Counterpunch, “none of it was true.”   American officials lied through their teeth to justify their crimes against Abu Zubaydah and many other innocent people.

The other shameful case is that of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, a highly qualified neuroscientist, who was kidnapped from Karachi, together with her three children in April 2003. She was mercilessly tortured and even raped by American soldiers in the Bagram torture chamber. This frail 5-foot 3-inches tall woman was accused of grabbing a gun from a 6-foot-tall US marine brute, and shooting him in the stomach.

For this ‘crime’ and for being an ‘al-Qaeda member’, she was sentenced to 86 years in jail where she has suffered continuous torture. Her front teeth have been knocked out and she was also assaulted in prison by another prisoner who threw hot coffee on her face, almost blinding here.

Incredibly, when the British journalist Yvonne Ridley struck a deal in 2013 with the Taliban and the American military for the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui in exchange for Robert “Bowe” Bergdahl, an American soldier held captive by the Taliban, the ISI scuppered it. Yet, the ISI chief at the time, General Ahmed Shuja Pasha, was over-anxious and involved in securing the release of the American terrorist Raymond Davis. He had shot and killed two Pakistanis in broad daylight in Lahore in January 2011.

Pasha forced the victims’ families to receive financial compensation in return for dropping the charges. He threatened them with dire consequences if they did not comply with his demand. Today, the Pakistan army continues to indulge in equally criminal activity by kidnapping leaders and workers of Pakistan Tehreek-i Insaf (PTI) headed by Imran Khan. They are threatened that their daughters, sisters, wives or mothers would be raped if they refuse to abandon the party. Such degrading conduct has seldom been witnessed even by foreign occupation armies. The Pakistan army is acting even worse than a foreign occupation army. What’s the purpose of having such an army?
